FAQs

What types of services can caregivers offer on AidMates?

Caregivers can provide non-medical support such as companionship, daily living assistance, special needs support, respite care, errands, and transportation.

Some caregivers who hold certifications (HCA, HHA, CNA) may also offer personal care.

What services are NOT allowed?

Because AidMates is a marketplace (not an agency), caregivers cannot provide:

• medical care

• medication administration

• wound care / injections

• skilled nursing tasks

• heavy lifting requiring two-person assist

• any tasks requiring agency-level licensure

How do I know which caregiver can perform which tasks?

Each caregiver lists:

• services they offer

• their certifications (HCA/HHA/CNA, DSP, CPR, etc.)

• experience

• hourly rate

• specialties

Caregivers may only accept tasks they are qualified and legally allowed to perform.

Do caregivers set their own prices?

Yes. Each caregiver sets their own hourly rate based on:

• experience

• certifications

• service level

• demand in your area

AidMates does not inflate or control pricing like agencies do.

What is the difference between Companion Care, Daily Living Support, and Personal Care?

• Companion Care: social interaction, light tasks, no hands-on support.

• Daily Living Support: non-medical supervision, routines, activities, structure (no lifting or physical assistance).

• Personal Care (licensed providers only): hands-on tasks like bathing, dressing, hygiene, transfers.

Can I book personal care without a licensed caregiver?

No. Bathing, toileting, feeding assistance, grooming, and mobility support must be done only by certified HCAs, HHAs, or CNAs.

Can caregivers support individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or dementia?

Yes — you can book caregivers who specialize in:

• autism

• intellectual disabilities

• behavioral redirection (non-clinical)

• dementia support

• sensory-friendly activities

• routines and structure

Each caregiver lists their experience with specific populations.
